Could This Be The Sign of The End?

Could what is happening around the world right now be signs that the end has come. Could the earthquakes, floods, wars, hunger, diseases, false teachings and many other happenings around the world be signs that Jesus is already on His way? Partly, yes - But i think it is important for us to follow the statements Jesus made about these last-days world-wide events - "Surely the Lord does nothing unless he reveals it first to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:6 & 7).
Recently, there has been panicking all over the world about the events brought about by the 2012 movie, which i also watched, and discussions even by renowned scientists and theologians on the so called Mayan Prophecies predicted using their calendar. The assumption is that the world is coming to an end amid the expected natural disasters. The reason why i am prompted to comment on this is the latest news i have been following on the events similar to that in biblical prophecy, no doubt they are exactly what the word of God foretold. The current Tsunami that is sweeping the Asia pacific, human suffering of this magnitude, the rise of many arrogant false prophets in our world and the wars up north, are but part of the fulfillment of bible eschatology. However, as a teacher of the word of God, i feel i have to encourage the church not to panic as the Lord warned (When you hear about wars and riots, don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn't the end. Luke 21:9).
The church needs to gather its strength and continue to carry our its mandate in the world as according to the scripture, despite these events. As far as the scripture is concerned, there is only one MAJOR sign of the End or God's readiness to close the chapter of this age. It is found in the last verse of the quoted scripture below - when the gospel has been spread all over the world and to every nation as the waters covers the sea (Psalm 67). So, what you see around you is just the beginning or continuation of the end times events, not the actual closure or end of the world as we know it. Does this then suggest that saints must relax and be cool about this, or continue to live carelessly in hope that there is still enough time. No, not at all! As i am punching the keys of my computer, the gospel is being spread to the most unreached areas, nations and tribes through different means. We are almost there ladies and gentlemen. I am not trying to scare you but this is just a reminder that what we are witnessing today, is indeed, prelude to the coming of our Lord.
The clock is ticking and who know when God will say; "This is it". Let us continue to live in the fear of God and he who sins must sin not more. He who slumbers must gird up his loins and go to the field. It's time to praise God even more for His word is true and all the nations will soon realize or God is is a living God! (PLEASE READ THESE SCRIPTURES BELOW CAREFULLY).
"Later, as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him in private and asked, "When will this happen? What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?" Jesus answered: Don't let anyone fool you. Many will come and claim to be me. They will say that they are the Messiah, and they will fool many people. You will soon hear about wars and threats of wars, but don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn't the end. Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places there will be earthquakes. But this is just the beginning of troubles. You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations. Many will give up and will betray and hate each other. Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others. But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved.
[Someone may say, "Here is the Messiah!" or "There he is!" But don't believe it. False messiahs and false prophets will come and work great miracles and signs. They will even try to fool God's chosen ones. But I have warned you ahead of time. If you are told that the Messiah is out in the desert, don't go there! And if you are told that he is in some secret place, don't believe it!(Mat 24:23-26]
When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come." (Mat 24:3-14).
I am hoping to continue to share with you, in this medium, some of the insight i have on this subject so that we can clear up confusion and panicking, particularly in the saints. At the same time; "warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus on that day:(Colossians 1:28).
Let's be wise and always ready to meet our Lord when He comes!
